I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Monica McBride for 2 plus years now. During those two years I've gotten to see, learn and experience her nurturing and caring nature. She has taught me much about patience, empathy and how to be an amazing caregiver. Monica is able to observe and understand what each of our patient's needs are, whether it is a meal, safe passage home, a blanket or just a hand to hold for reassurance. She is the individual who picks up where other providers of "higher" service have dropped the ball and reminds the patients and their families that they are safe and everyone is doing everything they can to help and that all though it may not seem at times but we truly do empathize with them. There have been several times I have witnessed these small gestures or heard these kind words and have seen the positive impact it makes to all involved. As it is our job to advocate for our patients, she is not afraid to speak up when she sees or feels something is or has been done wrong.
Monica has always been a reliable work partner. I have not experienced once that she has called out or been late. She is always there to help us out when needed no matter the task and if we need coverage. I appreciate her teachings but also her being able to student and open to the idea of an alternate way of doing things. I notice she is a determined and humble person both personally and professionally. She is able to listen and try to understand what needs to be done, how to pursue such tasks exceedingly, and to ask questions and for help when needed. She continues to learn/ keep up to date with new equipment, policies and procedures to best help out patients. There are not many people whom I would trust with my loved ones but she is definitely someone I do.
